Linda took four years of piano lessons in her childhood, loving every minute of learning, and used her skills to play for her church junior choir throughout high school. After high school she attended a new small church and played regularly for the services. She occasionally played for and sang special duos and trios enjoying the opportunity to play at another level.

Linda pursued other careers in adulthood but never stopped loving to play the piano. She was introduced to Harmony Road Music School in 2009 and began her teaching career at Harmony Road in 2011 after being encouraged by owner, Judy Stanley. Judy was impressed by her skills, knowledge and determination and suggested that she take a teacher certification seminar taught by Jan Keyser. Linda took the seminar, became certified and began teaching.

“The Harmony Road curriculum was a whole new approach for me, having never learned or been introduced to a solfege program. I see it as a total approach to learning music in that it incorporates rhythm, reading, writing, composing, hearing/listening, technique, theory, repertoire, and offers opportunities for public performance—everything so necessary to a well- rounded musical experience. I have grown and learned so much by this opportunity to teach.”

So far, Linda has taught only the Piano Street curriculum for teens and adults. When her schedule allows, she may begin teaching the Keyboard Prep level for 8- 11 year old students.

Linda and her husband own Mascotte Security, a company that supplies residential security doors.
